Check-in times

Monterrey International Airport has three terminals (A, B and C); check which one your airline uses before you go. How early you need to arrive depends on the type of flight and whether you are checking baggage.

Domestic flight

Arrive 2 hours before departure.

International flight

Arrive 3 hours before departure.

Boarding area

Be at the gate 45 minutes before (domestic) or 1 hour before (international).

Each airline closes check-in at its own cut-off time. If you arrive after it, the airline may deny boarding even if the plane is still on the ground. Check the cut-off time on your boarding pass or the airline’s website.

When to arrive even earlier

  • Summer vacation, Easter week and the year-end holidays, when the airport handles more than 10,000 passengers a day.
  • If you are checking baggage, traveling with a pet or need a wheelchair.
  • If you are buying a ticket or paying for a service at the counter.

Connecting flights

If you arrive on one flight and leave on another:

  • Same ticket: the airline usually checks your bag through to your final destination. Confirm it at check-in.
  • Separate tickets: you will have to collect your baggage, check it in again and go through security again. Allow at least 3 hours between flights.
  • Arriving from abroad: you first go through immigration and customs in Monterrey, even if your next flight is domestic.

Check your flight status on flight departures.
